Interactive Dreams is built around the idea that games are a medium for artistic expression. We look for meaningful experiences that challenge players, make them think and make them feel deep emotions. We stand on the shoulders of game designers, artists and writers who have questioned and thought about what games are and can be.These are some of the inspirations behind the studio's philosophy:

Game Poems - Jordan Magnuson

The Video Game Industry Does Not Exist - Brendan Keogh

Punk Playthings - Chris Lowthorpe, Sean Taylor

Let Me Play!
A play that you can't play.
Details
After shouting "Let Me Play!" to the cast in a theatre, the fiction comes crashing down as everyone, including you, becomes aware they're only following a script. Will you let the play continue? Or will you write your own ending?"Let Me Play!" is a short text adventure / visual novel about a play that doesn't let itself be played by the player. The project started as a lighthearted poke at very old discourse surrounding player freedom in games. It quickly turned into an overly-meta fiction that was also heavily inspired by "Six Characters in Search of an Author" by Luigi Pirandello, "The Entertainment" interlude in Kentucky Route Zero, as well as by many meditations on the intersections between games, theatre, and play. The game opens with a play-within-a-play called "Two Strangers in an Elevator", in which two characters get stuck in a lift, where they proceed to find a lot about each other. However, the player will quickly find out they can't actually do anything. Getting to interact means breaking everything apart! What follows is a series of quickly-escalating events that find their conclusion in a fiction-shattering event. Nonetheless, the game features a couple of different endings, depending on certain choices. After submitting "Let Me Play!" to If Comp 2025 and receiving polarizing reviews, the game is finally launching on Steam and Itch.io. This release includes a Spanish translation, some QOL fixes, as well as a slightly updated script.
